Mark your calendars for the next NB9QV Special Event station about the USS Cobia November 11-12 to help us commemorate Veteran’s Day. As usual, the group will be operating on the mess deck of the WWII submarine, located at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum in Manitowoc. If you’ve ever wanted a chance to see what it’s like on the OTHER side of a pileup, this is the place to be!
SCARC’s Christmas/Holiday party has been scheduled for December 9 at Klemme’s Wagon Wheel in Howard’s Grove. Sit down at 6:00 p.m. we’ll order off the menu – drinks and food are on your own. Join us at 5:30 p.m. for some additional ham radio camaraderie!
SCARC meets monthly – 2nd Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. (NOTE: NEW MEETING TIME starting with November 2017 meeting) We currently meet at the Mead Library – 710 N 8th Street in Sheboygan. We are looking for a site for our radio station. The Spaceport property is no longer accessible, and all radios, equipment and antennas have been placed in storage.

Weekly nets continue on Sunday mornings (2m @ 10:30 a.m.) and Monday evenings (2m @ 8:00 p.m. sometimes preceded by 10m @ 7:30 p.m. ). An informal CW drop-in practice net has also been started up at 7:30 p.m. on Mondays. Check out the Sheboygan repeater 146.706 or simplex 146.520 or the Manitowoc repeater 146.610 and get your CW up to speed.
