We will discuss this further at the August 2022 meeting, and will plan a September/October gathering so as not to conflict with holiday plans/winter weather.

W9B 2021 Johnsonville Brat Days Special Event – Aug 7, 1500Z-2259Z – 10:00a.m. to 6:00 p.m. CDT

July 10, 2019 By W9VCL

We had another successful W9B special event. There are brat lovers EVERYWHERE!

We had a total of 245 contacts between the 5 ops. Not bad for a day’s work! The PDF version (emailed upon request) was very popular.

Thanks for helping us celebrate!

QSL: Certificates featuring hand-drawn artwork from Joe Ash W9ODV are still available: W9VCL Sheboygan County Amateur Radio Club, 4235 N 29th Street, Sheboygan, WI 53083.

Please include $2.00 for an 8-1/2×11 certificate which will be mailed unfolded in a manila envelope or send $1 and SASE #10 (certificate will be folded).  Please do NOT send large folded envelopes with postage affixed (the certificates get all bend-y) – we will use our own envelopes. Just want a FREE PDF certificate? Email kc9yl@arrl.net to receive one at no charge!

Thanks for helping us celebrate Sheboygan’s 67th annual Brat Days!

Field Day 2022

May 22, 2018 By W9VCL

Field Day 2022 is scheduled for the weekend of June 25/26, 2022.  We plan to operate from our home QTHs and submit our scores as a club.

Due to the unknown restrictions would have been in effect in June 2021, we opted out of operating in-person and took advantage of the emergency rules.  Members used their own callsigns and were able to submit their scores toward the Club’s total.  We had a meager 3 club members submit scores, but hey, they got on the air!

Overall, 2021 saw more than 10,213 total entries and 18,886 participants. Before the pandemic, in 2019, 3,113 entries were submitted, with 36,420 total participants.  “It appears that larger groups were more the norm in pre-pandemic times, as expected,” ARRL Contest Program Manager Paul Bourque, N1SFE, observed.

In past years we have set up at the former Sheboygan Red Cross office, and most recently, at the Town of Sheboygan Firehouse Park for a one-day event on Saturday.

Brat Fry 2016

November 15, 2016 By W9VCL

Brat Fry 2016  – another successful year!

The brat fry is our yearly fund raiser that helps to defray the costs of insurance and other club operating expenses as well as provides funds for equipment upgrades that are needed. On April 30, 2016 we held our brat fry at the South Side Piggly Wiggly in Sheboygan.

This year John AB9HH and Linda K9TZU were gracious enough to organize this year’s event. Other members stepped to to lend a hand at our only fund raiser for the year.
